Sailing routes in 2025 revolve around tailwind share, light cargo, and facility spacing. Use this checklist to design routes that hit 90–120k XP/hr and 300–600k GP/hr without wasting ticks.
Step 1: Map Tailwinds
- Use world map wind overlays or clan trackers to find loops with ≥60% tailwind share.
- Baseline loops: Port Sarim ↔ Crandor, Mos Le'Harmless triangle, Eastern Deep salvage circuit.
- Run the loop without cargo first to clock the neutral time (T0).
Step 2: Add Facilities
- Place the Crystal Extractor within two tiles of the helm (Sloop right-adjacent, Skiff back-right, Galleon two tiles east).
- Install Wind Catcher or Gale Catcher outside the helm walkway. Confirm ghost placement to avoid rebuilds.
- Add Rune Hook for salvage-focused loops; Teleport Focus for cramped decks.
Step 3: Blend Contracts & Salvage
Contract loops keep XP steady; salvage pins add GP. A simple formula:
- Run 2 contracts → insert 1 salvage stop.
- Keep cargo ≤70%; if weight climbs, bank or skip the salvage pin.
- Track shards/hr via the ROI calculator to verify Extractor efficiency.
Step 4: Calculate ROI
Use 3,000,000 ÷ (shard price × shards/hr) to estimate Extractor payback. Example: 3,000,000 ÷ (15,000 × 11) ≈ 18.2 hours.
Adjust loop timing: T = T0 × (1 - tailwind_bonus) + salvage_delay. Keep salvage delay under 30 seconds per pin to retain XP/hr.
