Keg OSRS: Explosives and Spirits
Whether you're blowing up enemy ships with Gunpowder Kegs or smuggling Karamjan Rum, kegs are vital for any pirate.
Keg Types
- 💣 Gunpowder Keg: Deals massive AoE damage to ships.
- 🍺 Rum Keg: High-value trade good from Karamja.
- 💧 Water Keg: Essential for long voyages to prevent dehydration.
Gunpowder Kegs: Naval Combat
Gunpowder Kegs are your primary weapon against large vessels and sea monsters. They can be deployed from the rear of your ship or fired from cannons.
Stats & Requirements
- Sailing Level: 40
- Crafting Level: 45 (to make fuses)
- Damage: 30-50 (scales with Firemaking)
- Blast Radius: 3x3 tiles
Smuggling Rum Kegs
Transporting Karamjan Rum Kegs is a lucrative but dangerous activity. The Customs Officers at Port Sarim will confiscate them if found.
Smuggling Routes
Method 1: The Luthas Trick
Pack the kegs into a crate of bananas on Karamja, then retrieve them from the food store in Port Sarim. (Classic method, still works!)
Method 2: The Pirate's Cove
Sail around the blockade to Pirate's Cove. You can sell the kegs to the black market trader there for 2x the price.
Keg Strategy
Drop kegs behind you when being chased by PKers.
Place multiple kegs together for a chain reaction explosion.
Store kegs in the "Hazardous Materials" hold to prevent accidental detonation.
