Best OSRS Boat Layouts for Efficiency
Don't waste ticks running around your deck. Optimize your Sloop, Skiff, or Galleon with these proven facility layouts.
Layout Principles
- 📏 Proximity: Keep the Helm, Sails, and Extractor within 2-3 tiles.
- 🔄 Flow: Ensure a clear path between cannons and ammo storage.
- ⚖️ Balance: Distribute weight (facilities) to avoid listing (though not a mechanic yet, looks better!).
The Sloop: Compact Efficiency
The Sloop is the smallest ship, meaning space is at a premium. Every tile counts.
Optimal Layout
- Helm: Center rear.
- Crystal Extractor: Immediately to the Starboard (Right) of the Helm.
- Cannons: One on each side, mid-ship.
- Storage: Below deck or front bow.
The Skiff: Speed & Utility
The Skiff offers a bit more deck space than the Sloop, allowing for more specialized facilities.
Recommended Setup
Place your Crystal Extractor diagonally behind the helm (Rear-Right). This allows for 1-tick interaction without leaving the steering interface.
For combat Skiffs, place your Harpoon Gun at the very front for maximum range.

The Galleon has massive deck space, which can actually be a disadvantage if you spread things out too much.
Command Center Strategy
Create a "Command Center" around the Helm. Do not place essential utilities like the Extractor or Spirit Tree at the far ends of the ship.
- Extractor: 2 Tiles East of Helm.
- Spirit Tree: 2 Tiles West of Helm.
- Bank Chest: Immediately behind the Helm.
- Cannons: Line the broadsides (obviously).
