Why do people think it's nerfed?
There was a recent bug fix (Hotfix #124) that prevented the extractor from working in Instanced Areas (like the Kraken cove). This was not a nerf to the item itself, but a fix to prevent abuse.
In all open-world maritime zones, the rates remain unchanged:
- Harvest Rate: 1 resource per 5 minutes.
- XP Rate: Standard Sailing XP per harvest.
- Buffer: 6 hours max capacity.
Update History
December 2025 (Hotfix)
Fixed an issue where the extractor would continue to harvest while the ship was sunk in PvP.
November 2025 (Release)
Crystal Extractor released with the Varlamore Sailing expansion.
FAQ
Will Jagex nerf it in the future?
Jagex has stated they are monitoring the GP/HR, but currently, it is considered
balanced because of the high upfront cost and requirement of Crystal Shards.
