OSRS Hellhounds Guide
Hunting the demon dogs for Hard Clues.
Hellhounds are level 122 monsters often assigned by Slayer masters. They have high HP/Attack but incredibly low Defence.
Locations
- Taverley Dungeon: The classic spot. Safe spots available.
- Stronghold Slayer Cave: Easy access for Slayer tasks.
- Catacombs of Kourend: Multi-combat (good for bursting?) No, but ancient shards drop here. They are aggressive.
Drops
They drop almost nothing—except Hard Clue Scrolls (1/64) and Smouldering Stones (1/32k). Bring a Ring of Wealth (i) to double clue rate in wilderness.
Frequently Asked Questions
Are they weak to anything?
They are demons, so Arclight shreds them. They also have 0 magic defence, making them decent to mage.
Should I block them?
Many players block them because they have no drops. Unblock them only if you are hunting Hard Clues or the pet (from Cerberus boss upgrade).
